Jul, 27, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202130
This month, the Suape Port Industrial Complex joined Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), a global organization that has 2,500 local and regional public administrations committed to sustainable urban development on the planet. The initiative aims to insert the complex in the movement of internationalization of cities and regions, actively participating in debates and actions to apply the concepts and methodologies defended by the movement in the region (https://americadosul.iclei.org/). The complex is located between the municipalities of Cabo de Santo Agostinho and Ipojuca, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, and is home to the fourth-largest public port in the country in terms of cargo movement.
In Pernambuco, the State Government and the Municipalities of Recife, Caruaru, Serra Talhada and Brejo da Madre de Deus are affiliated. There are more than 80 associated state and municipal governments in South America.
