Port of Imbituba breaks historic monthly operating record

The Port of Imbituba closed July with the best monthly operating result in its history. For the first time ever, the port also surpassed the 700,000 tons handled in a single month. Altogether, 717,800 tons were transported, an increase of approximately 30% compared to July 2020. The previous record was 681,900 tons, achieved in May this year.
There were 28 ship berthings in Imbituba last month. The largest volumes were coke, followed by agricultural bulk (soy bran, corn, wheat, and malt), urea, bituminous coal, containers, salt, cellulose, caustic soda, and generators. Imports accounted for the majority of operations (63.3%), followed by exports (28.2%) and cabotage (8.5%).
