The Paraná state government is mobilized for the implementation of a Dry Port in Santo Antônio do Sudoeste, in the southwest region, close to the border with Argentina. On the 11th, Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior met with the superintendent of the IRS of the 9th Fiscal Region, Claudia Leão, to discuss the project, which will facilitate trade between the states in the southern and midwest regions with countries like Paraguay and Argentina.
The proposal is for the terminal to be installed on a property belonging to IDR-Paraná, the rural development institute of Paraná (IDR-Paraná), measuring 60,000 square meters located 500 meters from customs. The new unit could relieve the movement of the dry ports of Foz do Iguaçu, the largest in Latin America and almost 300 kilometers away from the city, and Dionísio Cerqueira, in Santa Catarina.
The new structure joins other logistics projects in Paraná and will be able to absorb the increase in cargo volume after the construction of Nova Ferroeste – which should be the second-largest railway corridor in Brazil – and the inclusion of PR-280 in Paraná’s new highway concessions program.
