Fertilizer imports rise 21.4% in June year-on-year

The deliveries of fertilizers to the final consumer somaram in June 4,384 thousand tons, 21.4% more than in the same month last year. In the first semester, the amount delivered to the market stood at 18.8 million tons – 15.7% up on year-ago levels. The report came from the National Association for Fertilizer Distribution (Anda).

Exports fell 13% in June year-on-year, to 83.55 thousand tons. During the first half of the year, exports stood at 320 thousand tons, an increase of 10.3% on the same period last year. Stocks of intermediate products for fertilizers and NPK formulations (of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) reached 6.20 thousand tons on December 31, 2020, 8.7% down on the 6.79 thousand tons reported at the end of 2019, according to Anda.
