Brazilian beef exports to China remain suspended

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) informed that there is no forecast to resume Brazilian beef exports to China. Exports to the country were suspended 10 days ago, when the first suspected case of mad cow was found in Minas Gerais.
Sales to China have been suspended since September 4, in compliance with the sanitary protocol signed between the country and Brazil, which determines that the measure be taken in case of identification of the disease.
China is Brazil´s main export destination for meat according to the Brazilian Meat Exporting Industry Association (Abiec).
