The EU buys more than half of the processed foods that China buys, and it is no small amount.

The statistics on exports of industrialized foods to the Eurozone prove that this is a space that needs to be courted when it comes to more value-added goods. The European Union (EU) purchased more than half of what giant China imported in values, in these categories, from January to August, which was US$ 6.7 billion.
In a survey carried out by ABIA (the Brazilian food industry association), the EU spent 13.6% more in these eight months, reaching US$ 3.9 billion.
The main items in this account are meat, sugar, and soy meal. But coffee and orange juice are also important sources of income.
Discounting what China imports in fresh soybeans, and excluding the soybean meal that China imports rarely, meat and sugar are on the list of the main items purchased from Brazil – and food in general, not just industrialized products.
Another point: the volumes purchased by China are sometimes multiplied by the correspondents that go to the EU, which is why the amounts paid by the European bloc are higher because they are more expensive products.
In meats, for example, preferences are for different cuts. And even fresh beef has premiums higher than those paid by the Chinese on China beef.
