Government discusses fertilizer offer with major Russian manufacturers

The minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, met with the main groups that produce fertilizers in Russia this Tuesday. The meeting was held at the Brazilian embassy in Moscow and was attended by directors of companies with business and investments in Brazil, such as Acron, Uralkali and Uralchem.
According to the Ministry, the minister highlighted the importance of “maintaining coordination and dialogue about the sector”. The ministry also informed that Albuquerque invited company directors to come to Brazil.
Russia is among the country’s main fertilizer suppliers. Last week, President Jair Bolsonaro said there is a risk that these inputs will start to run out as of next year, which could lead to food shortages.
