China maintains sugar import quota for 2022 at 1.945m tons

China has set its 2022 sugar import quota at 1.945 million tons, unchanged from a year earlier, the trade ministry said on Wednesday.
Quota volumes are assessed at a lower import tariff and, according to a statement on the country’s Ministry of Commerce website, 70% of the quota will be earmarked for state-owned companies.
