White House press secretary Jen Psaki reported that the 24-hour operations of the leading US ports are already showing results in the face of bottlenecks in supply chains. At a press conference on the 19th, the spokeswoman said that “supply problems are multifaceted” and that, at the moment, the administration’s focus is on ports.

Jen Psaki said some US ports are handling 30% more goods recently, given that “there are more jobs and people are spending more.”

In an official Twitter account, the Port of Los Angeles reported that train waiting times have been cut by more than half in the last 30 days, thanks to a collaboration with railway partners.

Asked why President Joe Biden did not act in advance to resolve the bottlenecks, Psaki assured that the problem has been being addressed since February and again blamed higher-than-average shipping volumes.
