Soybean planting pace in Brazil is the 2nd fastest in history

The soybean planting pace for the 2021/22 crop in Brazil was the second-fastest in history, signaling a “good” window for the second corn crop, sown after the oilseed harvest, said consultancy AgRural on Monday.

In addition, the firm stated that the accelerated planting should provide the largest producer and exporter of the oilseed an earlier supply of soybeans from the new crop compared to last year.

By last Thursday, soybean planting had reached 52% of the projected area, against 38% a week before and 42% in the same period last year, according to data supplied by the consultancy.

“For the third week in a row, planting ranks as the second-fastest in history, only behind the 2018/19 harvest”, said AgRural, citing that the advance is due to more abundant and regular rains recorded in October.
