The Port of São Francisco do Sul may start studying leasing the bulk terminal located inside its dependencies to private actors.
The qualification was approved on December 16th, in Brasília, by the federal government’s Council of the Investment Partnership Program (PPI in Portuguese).
With the decision officially taken, the port is now authorized to release the public notice for hiring a company that will be charged with carrying out the Technical, Economic and Environmental Feasibility Study (Evtea), which should take place next week.
According to the schedule proposed by the port authority, the bidding process shall be completed at the end of next year, with the signing of the lease scheduled to happen in April 2023.
Before the notice, however, there will be several public hearings and the Brazilian Federal Court of Auditors must issue an authorizing the bidding.
