Bolloré Group announced that MSC Group has made an offer to acquire 100% of Bolloré Africa Logistics, including all of its transport and logistics activities in Africa, historically the company’s stronghold.
MSC wants to buy all of Bolloré’s transport and logistics assets in Africa, based on the company’s net worth of €5.7 billion.
Bolloré Africa Logistics is a leader in transport and logistics on the African continent, where it has a network of 250 subsidiaries and employs 21,000 workers across 49 countries, including 47 in Africa.
As for maritime transportation, Bolloré is present in 42 ports and operates concessions for 16 container terminals (among them Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Togo, Guinea-Conakry), 7 ro-ro terminals, 2 timber terminals, and a river terminal.
Regarding MSC’s expansion project, Bolloré says that it “has granted exclusivity to the MSC Group until March 31, 2022, so the group can deliver a purchase proposal once the necessary audit and contractual negotiations are done” also clarifying that Bolloré “will make public the results of these exclusive negotiations in due time”.
