The beef market of Mato Grosso will finish the year with record-breaking export levels.
Beef shipment gains from the state may exceed US$ 1.74 billion, a record obtained regardless of the 100 days in which China was out of the market. In 2020, Mato Grosso exported the equivalent of US$ 1.68 billion.
In Brazil, preliminary data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Meat (Imac) point to a possible turnover of around US$ 530 million introduced by the shipment of 110 thousand tons of beef in December. Thus, beef trading companies could reach the end of 2021 having pocketed US$ 9 billion, equivalent to 1.8 million tons of beef.
China and the United States were the main consignees of Brazilian beef. “We managed to maintain the pace of exports due to the performance from January to September this year”, says the operations director at Imac, Bruno de Jesus Andrade.
