Based on data released by Brazil’s Secretary of Foreign Trade, the Chamber of Commerce of Brazil-Canada (CCBC) submitted an analysis, indicating that products in the “Coffee, tea, mate and spices” chapter of the Common Mercosur Nomenclature (NCM) ranked sixth among exports to Canada, totaling nearly US$ 111.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Products under this category accounted for 2.3% of all exported to Canada in 2021 (+7% compared to 2020).
Unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee beans alone reached US$ 109.6 million, comprising 99% of the value generated by the export of products in the chapter and 2.2% of all products exported to Canada in 2021 (also up 7% compared to 2020).
In the same group, adding to the chapter value, we see “Pepper (of the Piper genus), neither crushed nor powdered” at 166th in the general ranking, which reached only US$ 753,600 in 2021.
