
Coffee: global exports grow 9% in December says ICO

Coffe exports of member and non-member countries of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) totaled 12.115 million 60-kg sacks in December, the third month of the 2021-22 harvest year, vis-a-vis 112.122 million tons of sacks registered in 2020. The increase was 9%.
During the 2021-22 harvest, total export numbers added up to 31.288 million sacks, down 1.65% compared to the first three months of the 2020-22 season when exporters shipped 31.813 million bags.
According to the ICO, Brazil exported 3.786 million sacks in December, vis-a-vis 4,409 million in 2020, down 14%. Between October and December 2021, the world’s largest coffee exported shipped 10.147 million sacks compared to 13.683 million between October and December 2020, which is 26% less.
