Abrapa: Brazil imported 41k tonnes of cotton in the season so far

According to Abrapa – Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers – Brazil imported 4.1 thousand tonnes of lint from August 2021 to February 2022.
Despite the increase, the volume represents only 0.6% of total domestic consumption.
The trade balance calculated in volume remained positive in 21-22 so far, with a surplus of 1.193 million tonnes.
In the first two weeks of March 2022, Brazil exported 90,600 tonnes of cotton. The good news is that, unlike in recent months, the average daily departure is 17.3% higher when compared to March 2021.
