Beef: Brazil to produce 9.85m tonnes in 2022, says USDA

Brazil is expected to produce 9.85 million tonnes of beef (in carcass-weight equivalent) in 2022, according to information found in the Grain Report bulletin released by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Such a volume should exceed the 9.5 million tonnes recorded in 2021.
The country needs to butcher 37.7 million cattle in 2022 to achieve this amount, up from the 36.3 million recorded in 2021.

The country is expected to export 2.6 million tonnes of beef in 2022, above the 2.32 million tonnes sent abroad last year, according to the USDA. Domestic demand is predicted to reach 7.312 million tonnes this year, up from 7.24 million tonnes in 2021.
