China accounts for half of Brazil’s beef exports

Brazilian beef exports continued to perform well this year, especially to China. According to data from Secex, 710.99 thousand tonnes of bovine products (including in natura, industrialized, and offal, among others) were sent abroad in the first four months of 2022, up 27% greater than the same period in 2021.
In terms of exports to China, specifically beef, shipments amounted to 341,390 tonnes in the first four months of 2022, increasing 37% compared to the same period of the previous year. In view of this, China was the destination of 48.02% of the total beef exported by Brazil this year, above the share recorded in other years, which was 44.62% in 2021 and 37.1% in 2021, according to Secex data.
