The American multinational corporation Bunge will conduct new grain export operations through the Port of Sergipe.

Bunge’s exports through Sergipe have been growing thanks to the partnership developed with VLI to ship grans and brans of corn and soybeans via the Inácio Barbosa Maritime Terminal (TMIB), which is used to export the bran produced in the factories located in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (Bahia) and Uruçui (Piauí), in addition to enabling the flow other goods.

In 2020, Bunge operated only one vessel in the TMIB. In 2021, this number increased to two. Now, in 2022, six shipments are expected to occur over the year, four of which are under contract and two more in the pipeline.

Bran exports will be destined for European and Asian markets. In addition, with the growing demand for soybeans and corn in the Bahia region, the terminal can be a great promoter of exports.
