Portos do Paraná opened a public consultation period for the bidding of new leases of areas in the Port of Paranaguá. Located on the eastern portion of the port, PAR14 and PAR15 are intended to handle and store solid vegetable bulk. From May 25 to July 8, interested parties can seek information and make suggestions for improving the process.

The 45-day period, according to the CEO of Portos do Paraná, Luiz Fernando Garcia, aims to improve the projects by receiving contributions and clarifying eventual doubts. “This period precedes the public hearings, which also have pre-set dates for the first week of July, on the 5th and 6th”, he said.

These are, respectively, the second and third public hearings for soon-to-be-leased areas held this year. At the end of March, the first was about the PAR09 site, which covers 24 thousand square meters, handling solid vegetable bulk to the west of the Port of Paranaguá.

“We expect to take these three areas to auction later this year,” says the CEO. According to him, the new lease agreements guarantee, in addition to the contractual regularization itself, legal certainty for new investments.

The PAR14 and PAR15 public consultation calls were officially published in the Paraná-state Official Gazette as well as the Brazilian Federal Gazette and posted on the Portos do Paraná website.

More details are further available on the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) pages on PAR14 and PAR15.

Only contributions, subsidies, and suggestions sent by 11:59 pm on July 8 will be considered by the Port Areas Bidding Commission (Clap).

Areas – PAR14 spans 49,841 square meters and shall receive around R$ 1.2 billion in investments. The planned investment for PAR15, with 38,859 square meters, is R$ 656.8 million. Both are “brownfield” areas, meaning they are already occupied.
