MSC: insufficient info may cause delays in Chile
Jun, 15, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202224
The Chilean subsidiary of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) reported an increase in the number of shipments orders with incomplete information, which, according to them, could lead to possible delays in the delivery of goods to the final destination.
For this reason, MSC Chile is sending a “reminder” to its customers to remind them to provide consignee and notify contact details at the time of shipment. The information must include data about the Contact Person, Telephone, and Email.
“Failure to provide this information may cause delays in the delivery of the goods, as these data are necessary to send the Arrival Notice and/or notification of any additional information about the shipment,” indicated the MSC.
“We are receiving a significant number of requests with missing information, mainly from the US. If the lack of information generates an additional cost, it must be borne by the customer,” said MSC Chile.
One should note that the warning refers exclusively to the shipment of Dry and Reefer containers.
