Canada adds two units to the list of export-approved Brazilian meatpackers

According to information released by Broadcast Agro, Canada authorized two other pork processing plants in Santa Catarina to export animal protein products into its territory. Both plants are located in the state of Santa Catarina: Master Agroindustrial in Videira and Pamplona Alimentos in Rio do Sul.
Five units, all of them from Santa Catarina, had already received authorization to export last month, two of them owned by Seara Alimentos in Itapiranga and São Miguel do Oeste, one owned by Cooperativa Central Aurora in Chapecó, another owned by Pamplona Alimentos in Presidente Getúlio, and, lastly, one by Cooperative Central Aurora in Joaçaba.
According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), “although it is the third-largest global pork exporter [in 2021, the country exported 1.5 million tons), Canada is also a relevant buyer, purchasing on average 250 thousand tonnes annually.”
