Soybean exports from Brazil slow down in the 4th week of July; corn advances

Brazilian soybean exports lost momentum last week, with average daily shipments dropping to 391,130 tonnes by the 4th week of July, over 456,800 tonnes a day registered up to the third week, showed data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade released on July 25.

The new daily average also dropped below the 394,000 tonnes per day seen in July last year. The availability of grains for shipment this season is lower due to the crop failure that occurred last summer.

As for corn, on the other hand, a complete harvest caused the daily average of shipments to almost double to 179.4 thousand tonnes by the 4th week of July- until the previous week, the average corn export was 174.6 thousand tons/day.

With this, Brazil has already accumulated 2.87 million tonnes of maize exports, a figure that exceeds the 1.99 million tonnes shipped in July 2021.
