Brazil: Bovine genetics exports grow 17% in 1H22
Aug, 26, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202234
Exports of bovine genetics from Brazil totaled 470,900 doses of cattle semen in the first half of this year, up 17% from the same period in 2021, according to the Brazilian Association of Artificial Insemination (Asbia).
Also, according to the new Index Asbia, collections grew by 15% to 12.4 million doses.
“There was a minor decrease in the volume of doses commercialized [in the domestic market] because of the uncertainties in several regional marketplaces during the first semester. As a result, domestic distribution accounted for something in the range of 5% to 7%. We think that the second semester will be quite strong, with no decrease from last year’s total sales,” writes Carlos Vivacqua, head of strategic operations at Genex, in a note.
