Brazil’s orange juice export revenue falls 38.6% in March year-on-year

Brazil saw a dramatic fall in orange juice export revenues in March, down 38.6% to US$133.5m year-on-year, according to Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) data. Revenue fell 29.1% compared to February 2019 which registered US$188.2m. The volume of orange juice exported reached 170,000 tons last month, down 32.4% year-on-year.
Brazil’s foreign sales of orange juice reached 527,800 tons in the first quarter of 2019, compared to 613,100 tons seen in last year’s first quarter. The country’s revenue from orange juice shipments fell 20.4% to US$429.4m in the first trimester of 2019, year-on-year.
DatamarNews reported Brazil’s orange juice exports reached 666,500 tons of FCOJ (Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice) in the first eight months of the 2018/19 harvest between July last year and February this year, down 11% year-on-year.
