Argentina’s animal sanitation service Senasa received an official note authorizing exports of bull semen to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), made up of Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus. The agreement was disclosed last week.
“The export of bovine genetic material to the UEE reaffirms Argentina’s great potential as a producer of quality genetics and allows it to generate and stimulate the interest of other potentially importing countries, positioning our country in the world of marketing high-value goods,” said Miguel Donatelli, Senasa’s general coordinator of international relations.
Simultaneously, Donatelli stated that he hopes to conclude negotiations for exporting bovine embryos to the UEE soon.
More than bull semen
Since January, Senasa has certified 29,064 tonnes of beef and offal for Russia and 300,000 tonnes of plant-based products. It also approved 214.5 tonnes of lemon and peas for Armenia.
For Belarus, Argentina exported 119 tonnes of lemons and peas, 5 tonnes of oranges, peanuts, and walnuts, and 211 tonnes of bovine offal.
Argentina certified 912 tonnes of orange, tangerine, and lemon and 32 tons of bovine offal for Kazakhstan in this year’s partial. Finally, 177.7 tonnes of tangerine and lemon were sold to Kyrgyzstan.
