Law 14,465 of 2022 was sanctioned, increasing the number of directors of the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq). The legislation originates in provisional measure 1.120/2022, approved by Congress in October and sanctioned without a veto. The law was included in the Official Federal Gazette on November 10.
The norm amends Law 10,233 of 2001, making Antaq’s board grow in the number of chairs. The board of directors will be composed of a general director and four directors who have held positions for four and five years, respectively. Another eight commissioned advisory roles and 89 commissioned technical positions were also created.
The Executive’s original text provided one-year and two-year terms for the first occupants of the positions created by the previous law. The text was amended in the Chamber of Deputies so that the terms of office of the first occupants of the newly created positions are longer than those specified in the original text.
