Port of Rio Grande receives over 100 tractors from China

On November 28, the Port of Rio Grande successfully unloaded 128 tractors imported from China. The agricultural machinery arrived at Southern Brazil’s city on board the Load in Load off (LoLo) vessel Leopold Staff, sailing under the Maltese flag. The ship then headed to the Port of Santos on the 29th.
Unlike Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) ships, which are designed to carry wheeled cargo that can be driven on their wheels to the vessel, this operation requires cranes to lift the tractors off the ground and place them inside the ship. The choice of using a LoLo ship was taken due to the lack of available RoRo models.
