Hidrovias do Brasil inaugurated a modern maneuver simulator. The new equipment was installed in November at the company’s specialized training center at its private terminal in Barcarena.
“The new technology will allow the advancement, upskill, and development of the Hidrovias do Brasil crew, an important step in health, safety, and employee development as foreseen at the Company’s Sustainable Commitment,” said Gleize Gealh, Vice-President of Operations and Commercial for HBSA.
“Our main goal is to increase the safety of our crew, operations, and all people in the communities where we are present, as well as to increase operational efficiency,” the executive added.
The simulator, which has a complete navigation system and radar and electronic chart, faithfully reproduces a 180o angle of view from the cabin of the pushers, which currently transports cargo in the region. In addition, the simulator allows captains to practice dealing with adverse scenarios that may impair navigability, such as weather issues.
