Brazilian sugar and molasses exports total 2.22mt in December; daily average up 19% YoY

Brazil exported 2.223 million tonnes of sugar and molasses in December (22 working days), earning a total revenue of US$ 949.63 million, according to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy, on Monday, Jan 02.
In the last week alone, more than 280,000 t were shipped.

In December 2022, Brazil sold abroad 4.07 million tonnes of sugar-sector products. In the same month of 2021, with 23 working days, exports reached a volume of 1.94 million tonnes, creating US$ 729.45 million in revenue.
The average volume of sugar and molasses shipped per day totaled 101.05 thousand t/day in the same period, more than 19% higher than in December 2021 (84.50 thousand t/day). Shipment prices are almost 13% higher at US$427.20/t.
