The Minister of Ports and Airports, Márcio França, said this Tuesday (21) that the activities of the Port of São Sebastião were not affected by the rains that devastated the city and other municipalities on the north coast of São Paulo.
Despite being a federal asset, the port of São Sebastião is delegated to the state administration. Within its limits is the Private Use Terminal of Petrobras Transportes (Transpetro), called the São Sebastião Waterway Terminal.
“It did not affect the port [activities] because the heaviest rains were towards the south side, and the central part did not suffer so much. Therefore, the port yesterday (Monday, the 20th) was able to function; it has deeper waters”, said França in an interview given to GloboNews.
