Mar, 13, 2023 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202314
Brazilian exports of eggs (fresh and processed products) totaled 1,043 thousand tonnes in February, a slight increase of 1% compared to January, but a significant 50% drop compared to February last year, according to data from Secex.
See below a chart displaying Brazil’s egg exports (hs 0407-0408) between Jan 2019 and Jan 2023. The data is from DataLiner.

According to researchers from Cepea, the substantial reduction in foreign sales in one year may be linked to the lower supply of eggs in Brazil and the heated domestic demand, which has boosted trading values in the country and led producers to prioritize the product on the domestic market rather than external.
