Hapag-Lloyd increases freight rates from Asia to Latin America

Hapag-Lloyd announced a new General Rate Increase (GRI) from Asia to the West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, Caribbean and Central America.
The German carrier said that for cargo transported in 20’ and 40’ dry containers, including high cube equipment and 40’ non-operative reefers, the following rate increase will take effect from 1 April and will be valid until further notice.
- 20′ Dry Container: US$350
- 40′ Dry Container: US$500
- 40′ High Cube Container: US$500
- 40’ Non-operative Reefer Container: US$500
Hapag-Lloyd noted that the countries of origin include China, Macau, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos and Brunei, while the countries of destination include Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala and Panama.
