Brazil’s Jan-Feb exports of poultry genetic material grow 91.8%

Brazilian exports of poultry genetic material, including 1-day-old chicks and hatching eggs, totaled 2,325 thousand tonnes in February, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), a volume that exceeds by 86.2% the quantity seen in the same period of the previous year, with 1,248 thousand tonnes.
In revenue, last month’s sales reached US$ 20.952 million, up 57.5% from February 2022, with US$ 13.302 million.
With 4,646 thousand tonnes shipped in the first two months of this year, the balance remained positive, outpacing last year’s performance of 2,422 thousand tonnes by 91.8%.
In terms of revenue, the export balance for the first two months totaled US$ 42.237 million, a performance 62% better than that seen in the same period in 2022, when it totaled US$ 26.079 million.
Among the leading destinations for Brazilian exports are Mexico, with 3,241 thousand tonnes exported in the first two months (+339% compared to the previous year), Senegal, with 630 tonnes (-27.1%), Paraguay, with 402.7 tonnes (-1.9%), Venezuela, with 100 tonnes (+1425%) and Colombia, with 68 tonnes (+103.5%).
