The Executive Management Committee of the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) has decided to extend the anti-dumping duties on Brazilian imports of high-carbon steel wires and disposable syringes from China.
Regarding high-carbon steel wires, the anti-dumping duties will be applied for up to 5 years. These duties apply to high-carbon, high-strength, circular-section steel wires that are cold-hardened by drawing, with a smooth or notched surface, and can be classified as low relaxation or normal. The duties will be collected at specific rates in dollars per ton, as outlined in the resolution, and the decision has been formalized in the Official Gazette (DOU).
In addition, the committee has also decided to reinstate the definitive anti-dumping duties on Brazilian imports of disposable syringes for general use from China. These duties had previously been extended for up to 5 years but were immediately suspended. The taxed products are plastic syringes with capacities of 1ml, 3ml, 5ml, 10ml, or 20ml, with or without needles.
