Russia increases fertilizers exports to key markets India, Brazil

A report recently released by Global Fert highlights an increase in Russia’s fertilizer exports to Brazil and India. These countries rank among the top four largest consumers of fertilizers globally, alongside China – the leading producer and consumer – and the USA.
Regarding Russian exports to the US, the volumes have more than doubled, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions. According to Roscongress statistics, the first quarter of 2023 saw fertilizer shipments worth $596 million sent to the United States. In comparison, the amount for the same period last year stood at $262 million.
However, when it comes to the European market, Russian fertilizer exports witnessed a decline in market share. Europe seems to be favoring products from manufacturers in North African countries like Algeria and Egypt, as well as from other parts of the world, including Trinidad and Tobago, leading to Russia’s reduced presence in this market segment.
