Cargo throughput in September up 11% at Port of Imbituba

The Port of Imbituba handled 625,556 tonnes of goods in September, an 11% increase compared to last year.
With 28 vessels visiting the port during the month, the solid bulk segment stood out, accounting for 87% of the cargo volume in September. Petroleum coke is the most moved cargo during the period, followed by corn and soybean meal, salt, and soybeans.
Out of the total handled, 47.22% corresponds to exports, totaling 295,437 tonnes. Meanwhile, imports of products represented 38.4% of the cargo handled, followed by 14.36% for coastal shipping.
“With over 5.7 million tonnes handled so far, we anticipate closing the year with another historical record in cargo movement,” stated the president, Luís Antonio Braga Martins.
