Japan emerged as the top destination for egg exports in September, importing 888 tonnes, a remarkable 922% increase compared to the same month the previous year. Chile also stood out with 237 tonnes, marking a 379% increase.
Ricardo Santin, the President of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), noted that the egg industry has more than doubled total exports in less than nine months, compared to the entire 12 months of 2022. He stressed the increased sales to markets with high sanitary standards and expressed the expectation of maintaining these levels until the end of 2023.
Furthermore, Luís Rua, the Markets Director at ABPA, underscored the expansion of markets accessed throughout the year and that year-to-date exports continue to surpass 1% of the national production.
