Alckmin: Tax Reform To Boost Meat Exports

Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, stated on Monday (30) that the tax reform in Brazil will favor meat exports. During the inauguration of a JBS plant in Rolândia (Paraná) on Friday (27), he also advocated for diversifying Brazilian exports:
“Instead of just soybeans, we should export chicken and other products to add value and gain market share. The tax reform will help because it exempts exports and investments completely,” he said during the ceremony. “The fiscal framework can also help by lowering interest rates. Competitive exchange rates are important.”

During the visit to the facilities, Alckmin emphasized sustainability initiatives in agribusiness and discussed job creation in the region. “We are witnessing a new industrialization with cutting-edge technology on one hand and sustainable initiatives on the other, from electric trucks to renewable energy sources. Moreover, there will be impacts on job creation in the primary sector, industry, and services, as many people from the city will be involved.”
