Portos do Paraná has now become a Platinum Partner in the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC), a global organization with members in 66 countries conducting research on relevant topics for the sector. The non-profit organization counts among its members port authorities from Amsterdam and Antwerp/Bruges, as well as major companies with a global presence.
“The port activity is highly dynamic. Increasing demand and the growth of the logistics movement chain require Portos do Paraná’s continuous development in addressing the issues that permeate the global maritime infrastructure landscape,” says Luiz Fernando Garcia, the company’s CEO.
According to Garcia, achieving Platinum Partner status places Portos do Paraná at the forefront of discussions that have a direct impact on topics that can be applied to the port infrastructure in Paraná. “It is important to have this reference from the world’s major ports and leading companies in the sector, including insights and scenarios characteristic of the Bays of Paranaguá and Antonina, actively contributing to the publication of high-level technical reports that reflect the reality of Portos do Paraná,” emphasizes the leader.
Moreover, the public company gains visibility for its brand in the expansion and strengthening of international businesses. “By elevating the technical level of our processes and increasing Portos do Paraná’s presence in events and committees involving international players, it also brings greater visibility to the ports in Paraná, thereby attracting new investments to the terminals located here,” Garcia concludes.
Portos do Paraná’s CEO has taken on the role of commanding the National Section of PIANC Brazil, which serves as a liaison between the Association’s members in a given country and the organization’s headquarters in Brussels. It is the responsibility of a National Section to act as an intermediary between the management and technical bodies of PIANC and the corporate and individual members in their countries. SNs are also responsible for organizing national events for PIANC, promoting the organization’s published works, and encouraging the proposal of topics to be discussed by experts from all continents.
In addition to Garcia, the public company also has Bruna Calloni, the Engineering Manager, serving as the representative for the Southern Region in the Young Professionals Group of PIANC Brazil. More information about the association can be found at https://www.piancbrasil.com.br/.
