The Brazilian government announced proudly that Chilean authorities have recognized the equivalence of sanitary inspection systems for Brazilian egg exports.

The process, known as “pre-listing,” reflects the high confidence placed in the national sanitary control system. This procedure enables the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture to grant the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) the authority to certify and authorize previously audited establishments. Additionally, the agreement includes the possibility of licensing other production units that meet the established requirements to start exporting.

Between January and November of this year, Chile was the seventh-largest importer of eggs from Brazil, totaling over $7 million in acquisitions. The recognition of the Brazilian system granted by Chilean authorities will allow Brazil to increase its participation in the sector and contribute to ensuring food security in the country.
