Port of Cabedelo warms up to export Fiat, Jeep and RAM vehicles
Mar, 19, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202412
The Port of Cabedelo is about to receive major investments aimed at initiating the export of vehicles from renowned brands such as Fiat, Jeep, and RAM. The announcement was made by Governor João Azevêdo during a radio program on the 18th.
During a meeting with executives from Stellantis, the conglomerate that owns the mentioned brands, as well as others like Alfa Romeo, Opel, Peugeot, and Dodge, the governor emphasized the company’s need to establish around 100 parts factories to support vehicle production in Pernambuco. In this context, Azevêdo highlighted the logistical advantages of Paraíba, considering that the Port of Cabedelo is only 80 kilometers from the factory, compared to the 160 kilometers to the Port of Suape, currently used for exports.
To facilitate this new export flow, significant improvements will be made to the Port of Cabedelo, ensuring its suitability for the efficient transportation of vehicles. Additionally, all the legal and commercial advantages offered by the state were presented to the Spanish entrepreneurs in a meeting that proved to be extremely promising and capable of generating significant benefits for the economy of Paraíba.
