Paraguay, through the company Frutas del Paraguay, successfully completed its second shipment of national persimmons to Valencia, Spain, on Monday, April 08.
Carlos Giménez, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), accompanied the second shipment of persimmons for export to Valencia from the Frutas del Paraguay S.A. company in the Misiones department.
For this purpose, Minister Giménez visited the facilities of Frutas del Paraguay S.A. in the Cerro Cora company in the Misiones department, accompanied by the head of the National Service of Quality and Phytosanitary Health and Seeds (Senave), Pastor Soria, as well as other authorities.
During the visit, the minister celebrated the second shipment of the product to the motherland, which was realized approximately one year after the first shipment. He reiterated, “From the government of President Santiago Peña, we support national production,” expressed Giménez.
It is important to mention that persimmons are a crop harvested once a year, and with proper management, production can easily reach more than ten years of good performance. Known for its high nutritional value, it provides fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
