PortosRio has announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art computerized system to enhance the management of its ports, investing approximately R$6.5 million through a bidding process conducted in 2023. This system is designed to oversee the entire port process, from infrastructure usage requests to operations and billing.
On May 27th and 28th, PortosRio conducted presentations at the Ports of Rio de Janeiro and Itaguaí, respectively, for clients who will utilize the new system. During these sessions, lessees, shipping agents, and port operators were briefed on the training scheduled for July and the system’s operational launch in September.
The new system boasts features and integrations with other platforms such as Porto Sem Papel (PSP) and SISCARGA, aiming to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and reduce redundancy in data entry. PortosRio emphasizes its dedication to innovation and efficiency, continuously striving to improve services for the port community and the public.
With the implementation of this new system, the Port Authority anticipates modernizing port operations and integrating data from various agents and external systems, thereby eliminating the need for redundant data entry. Additionally, the system is expected to expedite communication and information exchange among company sectors, including billing, port operations, contracts, and merchandise control.
The objectives of this initiative include quickly and efficiently obtaining management information, utilizing agile accountability tools, and providing integrated electronic information to government stakeholders such as Federal Revenue and ANTAQ. Furthermore, the system aims to enhance operational performance in terms of cost, time, and quality, while optimizing task and resource allocation by eliminating unnecessary steps and automating manual procedures.
