Abrafrutas, the Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Derived Fruits, participated, together with the delegation led by the Vice President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckmin, in the VII Plenary Session of the China-Brazil High-level Coordination and Cooperation Committee (COSBAN) in China. Negotiations on phytosanitary agreements to export Brazilian grapes to the Chinese market were concluded during this event with the support of the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Favaro.
The Brazilian grape is recognized for its quality and market potential. The opening of the Chinese market represents a great opportunity for Brazilian producers. “We are optimistic about this new stage. China is a promising market and opening it to Brazilian grapes marks an important step to increase our exports,” stated Guilherme Coelho, president of Abrafrutas.

Fruit consumption in China has increased considerably in recent years, driven by a growing concern for health and well-being among Chinese consumers. Fruits are valued for their nutritional properties and are frequently included in balanced diets.
This growing demand offers a valuable opportunity for Brazilian exporters, who can benefit from the Chinese consumers’ continuous search for fresh and healthy products. The opening of the Chinese market to Brazilian fruits represents a strategic step to expand its fruit sector exports.
