Cattalini Terminais celebrates 43 years with increased draft at private pier

Cattalini Terminais Marítimos increased the draft of the internal berth at its private pier from 12 to 12.5 meters. Following recent dredging campaigns, the new draft received formal approval from the Maritime and Port Authorities and Paranaguá Pilotage, confirming safe conditions for ship maneuvers.
“With the increase in the draft, operations at the Cattalini pier will be optimized, allowing a greater balance of ship berthings between the internal and external berths, enhancing agility and efficiency in docking times,” assessed Carlos Katsuji Ichi, senior operational manager.
The Cattalini pier has two berths: the external berth with a draft of 12.8 meters and the internal berth with a new draft of 12.5 meters. The structure can accommodate ships measuring 229 meters and 190 meters in length, respectively.
Last year, Cattalini handled 5.3 million tons of liquid bulk, a 4% increase compared to 2022. The results were driven mainly by exports of vegetable oils and biodiesel, as well as imports of methanol, petroleum derivatives, and caustic soda.
The announcement of the increased draft coincided with a double celebration: the company celebrates its 43rd anniversary this month, and the city of Paranaguá commemorates its 376th anniversary.
