Brazil launches probe into dumping of imported glass from Malaysia, Pakistan and Türkiye

The federal government began an investigation on Monday (29) into dumping practices in the export of colorless float glass, with thicknesses ranging from 1.8 mm to 20.0 mm, originating from Malaysia, Pakistan, and Türkiye. The investigation aims to assess the damage to the domestic industry resulting from such practices.
The decision was made public in a note by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC) in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
In the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM), the product corresponds to code 7005.29.00.
“The analysis of the evidence of dumping considered the period from January 2023 to December 2023,” stated the ministry. “The period of damage analysis considered the period from January 2019 to December 2023.”
