Chinese Taipei gives greenlight to Brazilian shipments of pet food derived from dairy

The Brazilian government welcomed Chinese Taipei’s announcement of sanitary approval for the import of non-conventional pet food derived from dairy products.

The market for non-conventional pet food includes species such as turtles, parrots, rabbits, chinchillas, and hamsters. This approval allows Brazil to expand its exports of dairy products, catering to a specific and growing segment in the global pet food market.

Chinese Taipei is an important destination for Brazilian agricultural products. In 2023, exports to Chinese Taipei totaled US$1.64 billion, with the main items being cereals, meals, preparations, and products from the soy complex. In the first half of this year, these exports amounted to US$712 million.

With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness achieved its 87th market opening this year, totaling 165 openings in 55 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
