Container ship collides into Port of Santos dock

The Malta-flagged container ship CMA CGM Tanya collided with the dock at Ecoporto on the Right Bank of the Port of Santos. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 5:00 PM during the berthing maneuver.
Ecoporto has stated that it is currently assessing the damage and will provide more details on Thursday (15th). According to sources from A Tribuna, the incident did not affect the ship’s operations. The CMA CGM Tanya, built in 2016, is 300 meters long. The Santos Port Authority (APS) has not been notified either.
Navy Response
In a statement, the Brazilian Navy, through the São Paulo Port Captaincy (CPSP), confirmed the incident with the CMA CGM Tanya and reported that there were no injuries or significant damage. “Experts have been assigned to gather more information and details about the accident, and a Navigation Accident and Incident Inquiry (IAFN) has been initiated to determine its causes,” the statement concluded.
The report also reached out to the Santos Pilots Association, APS, and CMA CGM, the French shipping and container company, but no further information was available at the time of publication.
