Port Authority Portos do Paraná has launched a public consultation to gather feedback and suggestions for improving the legal and technical documents related to the lease of the PAR25 area, designated for the handling and storage of solid vegetable bulk at the Port of Paranaguá. The announcement was published in the Official Gazette on Thursday (5th), and the consultation will remain open until October 21, 2024.

“The public consultation is a critical step in ensuring transparency and active participation in the leasing process for the PAR25 area. By opening this space for dialogue, we aim to refine the legal and technical documents, ensuring that the bidding process is conducted efficiently and in line with best practices in the port sector,” stated Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná.

“The Port of Paranaguá remains committed to strengthening its position as one of the country’s top logistics hubs, ensuring sustainable development and competitiveness in the international market,” he added.

The project involves an infrastructure investment of R$500 million. Combined with other areas slated for bidding and the five already leased, total investments at the Port of Paranaguá will amount to R$4 billion, further solidifying the port’s strategic importance in national economic development and logistics.

Interested parties can access the drafts and specialized documents directly on the Portos do Paraná website and the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) portal. Contributions must be submitted by 11:59 PM on October 21, 2024, exclusively through the online form available on the public consultation portal.

In addition to the consultation, a hybrid public hearing (in-person and online) will be held on a date yet to be determined to address any questions and facilitate discussion on the leasing process. Details on the date and location will be announced later.

The PAR25 area is strategically important for the Port of Paranaguá, one of the country’s main logistics hubs, especially in the solid vegetable bulk sector. This reinforces Portos do Paraná’s commitment to transparency and public participation in the development of its operations.
